About The Position

The Recreation and Fitness Center (RFC) is looking for an Associate Recreation and Fitness Program Coordinator to develop, organize, and implement a variety of programs within the areas of Sport, Recreation, Team Building and Aquatics. Our team offers activities and programs to meet the emotional, physical and social well-being needs of SAS employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Exercise Sports Science, Parks and Recreation, or related field.
  • Some experience in sports related programs, recreation and team building.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds on a regular basis, and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR, First Aid and AED Certification
  • Aquatic Instruction and/or aquatic programming experience
  • Customer Service Experience
  • CPO Certified Pool Operator (Optional)
  • Certified Swim instructor (Optional)

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience developing sports leagues, working with captains and participants
  • Facilitate and create teambuilding programs in-person and virtually
  • Create and coordinate a variety of group activities in recreation
  • Develop and support aquatic programming and classes
  • Prepare advertisements, including newsletter updates and program registration and announcements
  • Supervise facilities as necessary. Perform general office duties: answering phone calls, handling employee questions, assisting in facility preparation for specific activities, etc.
  • Assist with the general maintenance of facilities. Maintain facility equipment as required.
