About The Position

This position is for an Associate Quality Control Engineer at Rolls-Royce, located in Aiken, SC. The role involves assisting in coordinating and implementing quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost. The engineer will respond to line calls with immediate corrective action, assist in developing long-range corrective measures through root-cause analysis, and provide accurate and timely data to management regarding quality concerns. Responsibilities also include procuring gauges and measuring equipment, performing machine and gauge capability studies, keeping management informed of progress, implementing health and safety practices, developing and implementing quality audits, coordinating problem-solving efforts, designing and implementing process control programs, maintaining good housekeeping, staying updated on specifications and regulations, writing and distributing quality data and reports, promoting a compliance culture, and performing special projects as required. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Quality Engineering; or 4 years of experience in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Quality Engineering.
  • Ability to work flexible hours or shifts.

Nice To Haves

  • Good knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the production of internal combustion engines.
  • Good knowledge of the dynamic performance requirements, test setup and monitoring, and problem resolution of internal combustion engines
  • Good knowledge of quality control, raw materials, manufacturing processes, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of engines

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement state process control programs for inspection purposes

  • Keep abreast of specifications, changing regulations and industry standards
  • Write and distribute quality data and reports
  • Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct
