About The Position

Walt Disney World Public Relations is seeking a strategic and creative professional to join the team as an Associate, Public Relations. This role supports the development and execution of public relations strategies while elevating how stories are told through compelling visuals, such as graphics, presentation templates, and recaps. Projects may include media activations, onsite productions and events for theme parks, resorts, Disney Springs, festivals and more. The ideal candidate has a passion for visual communication and an eye for design, with the ability to communicate complex information in succinct and easy-to-understand visuals. They should be comfortable interacting with technology, eager to adapt to new platforms quickly, and extremely organized to support a team operating in a fast‑paced, highly visible PR environment. This role plays a critical part in elevating how the Public Relations team demonstrates impact, performance, and storytelling internally and externally through best‑in‑class visual execution.

Requirements

  • A visual portfolio showcasing examples of communications and/or creative work personally created by the applicant (e.g., presentations, visual storytelling, content, graphics). Work should reflect the candidate’s individual contributions; AI generated work or pieces built using templates are not requested.
  • Experience in graphic design utilizing Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), presentation tools (PowerPoint, Canva) and other design programs.
  • Experience analyzing large and complex data sets to identify trends, generate actionable insights, and inform data‑driven decision making.
  • Experience with written and verbal communication
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and high-volume setting.
  • Experience leveraging new and familiar digital tools to support reporting, insights, and communications workflows, troubleshooting independently to learn and explore new technology.
  • Experience working both independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for event support.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship or early-career experience in visual communications, corporate design, public relations, media marketing or events.
  • Experience writing in AP Style
  • Experience with project management platforms (e.g., Smartsheet or similar tools).
  • Experience using media monitoring and measurement platforms (e.g., Meltwater, Cision, or similar).
  • Interest in visual storytelling, content creation, and digital media trends.
  • Knowledge of or passion for Walt Disney World Resort offerings and the themed entertainment industry.

Responsibilities

  • Design visually compelling PR materials, including infographics, executive summaries, presentations, dashboards, and data driven storytelling tools.
  • Track and compile key PR performance metrics, including media coverage, sentiment, influencer results, and campaign impacts across earned and shared channels.
  • Assist with maintaining digital asset library of PR photo/video assets.
  • Support maintenance of media lists and project management systems, utilizing tech-forward solutions.
  • Assist in the execution of external publicity and earned media strategies for Walt Disney World Resort, including new product debuts, attraction openings, resort refurbishments, seasonal offerings, and special events.
  • Help draft press materials, media advisories and social media content under the guidance of senior PR staff.
  • Support content and asset capture efforts (photo, video, short-form social, behind the scenes materials) to document and promote new and ongoing offerings in partnership with internal creative, production, and operations teams.
  • Maintain up to date media, influencer, and asset databases, ensuring materials are accurate, organized, and easily accessible.
  • Coordinate logistics for media visits, influencer experiences and special events.
  • Monitor media coverage, assess outcomes and compile coverage reports.
  • Partner with key internal departments, including Marketing, Creative, Operations, Digital/Social, Legal and other Communications partners to support integrated storytelling.
  • Assist with special projects and cross team initiatives as needed.
