About The Position

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB) is seeking an Associate Provost for Strategic Initiatives, available on or after June 1, 2027. This is a 12-month tenure-track faculty position reporting directly to the Provost. UMHB is looking for faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars committed to preparing students for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society. The role involves managing stakeholder engagement for university strategic initiatives, leading cross-college projects, conducting program reviews and designs, collaborating with admissions on student programmatic interests, performing market research on industry trends, assisting with faculty professional development, preparing reports and presentations, and supporting Academic Affairs in setting priorities and goals. The Associate Provost will also oversee the Townsend Memorial Library and the Center for Digital Learning. The ideal candidate will be a communicative, strategic, visionary, and Christian leader who can foster innovation, promote diverse course delivery, and advance the university's mission.

Requirements

  • Must be an active and committed Christian who will support the University’s mission and be an active participant in a local church.
  • A terminal degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • A proven record of effective leadership, organizational and managerial skills, and the ability to build critical, collaborative partnerships across the University.
  • Strong experience with Artificial Intelligence and its application across large organizations.
  • Must agree to the University’s Employee Statement of Understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Managing stakeholder engagement and communication regarding University strategic initiatives
  • Leading major cross-college initiatives
  • Conducting program reviews and designs initiatives to respond to program outcome needs
  • Working closely with Recruiting/Admissions to determine potential student programmatic interests and to ensure recruiting materials align with program content and industry needs
  • Conducting market research to determine industry trends and future industry demands
  • Assisting in campus programming for professional development opportunities for faculty
  • Assisting in the preparation of special reports, documents, and presentations
  • Supporting Academic Affairs in establishing priorities and goals, policies, and practices
  • Tracking and following up on a wide range of programs, initiatives, and activities for Academic Affairs
  • Providing administrative oversight and strategic leadership for the Townsend Memorial Library
  • Providing administrative oversight and strategic leadership for the Center for Digital Learning
