About The Position

Leidos Engineering has an opportunity for an Associate Project Manager who will work alongside Project Managers, Lead Engineers and Account Managers supporting various electric utility clients. We are currently seeking qualified applicants to provide Project Management Services related to transmission line engineering projects throughout the Southeastern United States. The Associate Project Manager will be part of an established Project Management Office within our Power Delivery Solutions division that provides consulting services to public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities for comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission, substation, and distribution projects nationwide. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related discipline is required.
  • 0+ year of relevant experience in project management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Projects.
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct, and track technical efforts on assigned tasks.
  • Ability to track cost and schedule status of assigned tasks.
  • Ability to take direction from and discuss decisions with the direct supervisor, and to coordinate with project team members.
  • Ability to interact with customer representatives in an effective manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with electric power industry.
  • Knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery services.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., PWA, MS Project or P6).
  • Ability to obtain a PMP Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers to manage various sized transmission line design projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities.
  • Accept responsibility for overall project performance and reporting.
  • Ensure project costs, schedule and scope are managed, including the development of recovery plans with a focus on change management, to stay within approved limits.
  • Communicate with clients, internal project teams, multiple engineering disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel.
  • Create and maintain resource loaded schedules.
  • Coordinate with Engineering Leads to track and execute client deliverables.
  • Assist with the preparation of bid documents, cost estimates, and responses to Requests for Proposal.
  • Complete monthly client invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable within prescribed time frames.
