About The Position

As part of Intersect’s Data Centers and Fuels team, you’ll help deliver complex power generation infrastructure projects that support the evolving needs of data centers and large-scale energy users. Working alongside experienced Project Managers, you'll contribute to projects from early development through engineering, construction, commissioning, and commercial operations while building the skills needed to lead major capital projects of your own. This role is designed as a clear pathway into full Project Management ownership. You'll gain hands-on experience delivering large-scale EPC projects while also leading strategic technology pilot programs that validate next-generation power solutions before they are deployed across GW-scale infrastructure. If you're excited by both disciplined project execution and emerging energy technologies, this role offers an opportunity to accelerate your career while helping shape the future of power infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
  • 5–8 years of progressive project engineering or project management experience supporting power generation, oil & gas, or energy infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with the full project lifecycle, including development, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Working knowledge of EPC contracting, construction administration, RFIs, submittits, and change management processes.
  • Experience contributing to at least two full-lifecycle infrastructure projects from development through commercial operation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across technical and business teams.
  • A bias for action, curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to help evaluate and deploy emerging power technologies.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement that helps deliver successful project outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing or supporting technology pilot programs, R&D initiatives, or complex hardware and software integrations is highly desirable.
  • Field experience supporting construction, commissioning, and start-up activities involving OEM equipment such as turbines, reciprocating engines, and Balance of Plant (BOP) systems is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the successful execution of power generation projects from early development through construction, commissioning, and commercial operation.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, resource forecasts, and execution strategies.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities across EPC contractors, engineering consultants, equipment suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Track project risks, issues, milestones, and action items to help ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
  • Manage first-of-a-kind (FOAK) technology pilot projects that validate new power generation and control system solutions before commercial deployment.
  • Coordinate the integration of complex hardware and software systems, including natural gas engines, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), medium-voltage switchgear, load banks, and grid and PV simulators.
  • Partner with Engineering and strategic teams to define pilot objectives, success criteria, and phased execution plans.
  • Analyze pilot performance, document lessons learned, and prepare recommendations that inform future investment and deployment decisions.
  • Support engineering activities from FEED (FEL 1–3) through Issued for Construction (IFC) documentation.
  • Coordinate design reviews, vendor submittals, technical documentation, and engineering deliverables.
  • Assist with EPC contract administration throughout project execution.
  • Collaborate across technical, commercial, and construction teams to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Monitor project budgets, purchase orders, invoices, and financial performance.
  • Coordinate procurement activities and critical equipment deliveries.
  • Review contractor change requests and maintain accurate change management documentation.
  • Administer construction documentation, including RFIs, submittmits, technical deliverables, dashboards, and project status reports for leadership.
