Associate, Program Management & Strategy - Investments

Liberty Mutual InsuranceBoston, MA
$120,000 - $265,000

About The Position

Liberty Mutual Investments (LMI) manages Liberty Mutual Insurance Group’s global investment portfolio, overseeing more than $100 billion in assets. LMI aims to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns and support Liberty Mutual’s long-term financial strength by investing across a broad range of asset classes. As LMI progresses its 2030 strategy, it is enhancing its capabilities, expanding private markets, modernizing its operating platform, and introducing new investment structures. This requires disciplined program execution, effective cross-functional coordination, and an operating model that can manage increasing complexity efficiently. The Program Management team, within GIS Strategy & Execution, governs LMI’s most complex strategic programs, sustains the operating infrastructure for Product, Data, and Technology teams, and ensures rigorous and repeatable execution across the enterprise. This role reports to the Head of Program Management and offers the opportunity to own significant responsibilities from the outset, including running key events, coordinating operational cadences, and supporting active programs as a developing Associate Program Manager. The role provides a clear path to develop business fluency, stakeholder relationships, and program management skills necessary for a full Program Manager position.

  • Experience in asset management, institutional investing, insurance investment management, or investment operations/financial services is preferred.
  • Curiosity about and interest in developing fluency in LMI’s investment products, asset classes, and programs is essential.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Comfort operating with ambiguity and limited direction; requires independent judgment and initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships across functions and levels, including senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Experience with and interest in how AI tools can improve team workflows, and a willingness to learn, try, and share.
