About The Position

The Associate Residency Program Director will assist the Residency Program Director and Department in the UND SMHS-led objectives of maintaining ACGME accreditation and enhancing the behavioral health workforce in our state. The addition of this 0.1 FTE position is a necessary element in the ACGME Common Program Requirements.

Requirements

  • M.D./D.O. eligible for license to practice in North Dakota
  • Board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Graduate of approved residency in Psychiatry
  • Five years’ minimum practice required
  • Three years’ teaching experience required
  • DEA certification
  • Must include letter of interest and qualifications for the position, curriculum vitae and 3 professional references.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Residency Program Director in preparation for the anticipated decennial accreditation visit.
  • Service on other committees/projects as requested.
  • Along with the Program Director, providing formal and informal performance feedback to residents, and assisting the Program Director in compliance with due process and grievance procedures.
  • Along with the Program Director, overseeing/ensuring the quality of both clinical and didactic education at sites.
  • Ensuring compliance of policy and completion of Milestones 2.0 and upgrading within the MedHub education management system.
  • Serving as a competent, ethical role model to trainees and peers.
  • Other academic duties as may be assigned by the Program Director or Chairman of the Department.
