About The Position

The University of Colorado’s Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is seeking a part-time 0.625 FTE Associate Professor. This research will focus on gastrointestinal cancer, inflammation, and metabolism. Patient-derived tissues, organoid models, and translational laboratory approaches are used to study the biological mechanisms that drive gastrointestinal diseases, including colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. The long-term goal is to develop improved strategies for disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Requirements

PhD or MD from an accredited institution in a related field of biology, toxicology, or immunology.
Record of published manuscripts.
At least five publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently within the research lab on techniques and methods related to metabolism, microbiology, immunology, and mucosal biology.

Nice To Haves

Research experience with gastroenterology, colitis, fibrosis or closely related field.
Demonstrated success in obtaining research funding.
Published expertise in mucosal innate immunity, inflammatory bowel disease, colitis, fibrosis or closely related field.
A track record of successful research collaborations.
