About The Position

The University of Colorado’s Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is seeking a part-time 0.625 FTE Associate Professor. This research will focus on gastrointestinal cancer, inflammation, and metabolism. Patient-derived tissues, organoid models, and translational laboratory approaches are used to study the biological mechanisms that drive gastrointestinal diseases, including colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. The long-term goal is to develop improved strategies for disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Requirements

  • PhD or MD from an accredited institution in a related field of biology, toxicology, or immunology.
  • Record of published manuscripts.
  • At least five publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently within the research lab on techniques and methods related to metabolism, microbiology, immunology, and mucosal biology.

Nice To Haves

  • Research experience with gastroenterology, colitis, fibrosis or closely related field.
  • Demonstrated success in obtaining research funding.
  • Published expertise in mucosal innate immunity, inflammatory bowel disease, colitis, fibrosis or closely related field.
  • A track record of successful research collaborations.
