About The Position

Provides classroom and clinical/laboratory instruction for students in the nursing major including preparation of content, assignments, and evaluation of student clinical and academic progress. Interacts with health team members in cooperating clinical agencies to facilitate student learning and to promote quality-nursing care for clients. Participates in the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the total educational program.

Requirements

Significant progress toward an earned Doctorate in Nursing (awarded by June 2022) or related field
Master's Degree with a major in Nursing (MS or MSN)
At least 2 years’ experience in clinical nursing as required by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations
Communication and interpersonal skills for interacting effectively with students, peers, and cooperating clinical agencies to provide an environment conducive to student learning

Nice To Haves

Previous teaching experience, preferably in a baccalaureate nursing program
Licensure in Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)
Licensure in Illinois as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) if teaching in Graduate Program specialty area
Certification in population specific focus, i.e., Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (if teaching in APRN program) if teaching in Graduate program specialty area
