About The Position

This part-time position ranges from .05%25 to 37.5%25 FTE and includes academic responsibilities encompassing teaching, scholarship, and service. Academic expectations involve developing a funded scholarship/research program that complements their clinical expertise and efforts, teach in PharmD, graduate, and/or post graduate programs, and pursue endeavors that advance their leadership and professional development. The successful candidate will be a clinician scientist who can consistently obtain extramural funding to offset their salary and produce relevant scholarly work products.

Requirements

  • PharmD degree or US Pharmacy Degree + PhD
  • Must have completed PGY2 residency training or Research Fellowship
  • Must be eligible for pharmacist licensure in Colorado
  • Previous promotion to associate professor or higher at peer institution or equivalent experience in an academic setting

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced training through a PGY2 residency or equivalent previous practice experience.
  • Board certification in an area appropriate for training and experience, (i.e., BPS certification)
  • Seven (7) or more years of previous experience in an academic setting and clear evidence of a successful research program including extramural funding support

Responsibilities

  • Conduct cutting-edge research to advance pharmacotherapy and address critical challenges that improve health and save lives.
  • Bridge Interdisciplinary collaborations within departments, School, and which cut across the University of Colorado Anschutz campus to foster interdisciplinary research.
  • Excellence in publication record and externally funded research which can cut across both clinical and research domains and in areas which are of the highest clinical significance and impact, including obtaining extramural funding for research work that supports the leverage of their faculty salary.
  • Produce scholarly work in support of research activities and/or clinical practice. Scholarly activity includes writing manuscripts (e.g., research articles, educational innovations, textbook chapters, therapeutic summaries/review articles) which are published in peer-reviewed academic journals.
  • Provide high-quality teaching services in the School of Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy program. Teaching includes preparing and presenting lectures and active learning sessions, precepting student Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPEs) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs), evaluating student performance using various assessment methods, and mentoring and advising students.
  • Mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and research staff, supporting their academic and professional growth.
  • Participate in professional service activities such as university or school committee work, participation in professional organizations, and attendance at seminars, conferences, special courses, and scientific meetings.
