About The Position
Boston University’s Department of Computer Science in the College of Arts and Sciences seeks an Associate Professor of the Practice beginning July 1, 2027. The position will support the Master of Science in Computer Science and Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence programs. The successful candidate will teach graduate-level applied topics and prepare MS students in disciplinary foundations and their application using modern industry tools. The role will also help develop and organize experiential learning opportunities for MS students and contribute to teaching and course development for the new Online MS in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Strong professional record and industry experience.
- Commitment to teaching.
- Experience teaching graduate-level courses in applied topics.
- Appropriate industry experience to train MS students in disciplinary foundations and their application using modern industry tools.

- Interests in software engineering, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
Responsibilities
- Teach graduate-level courses in applied computer science topics, such as Applied Algorithms, Advanced Programming, Software Engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning.
- Train MS students in the foundations of the discipline and the application of those foundations using modern industry tools.
- Help develop and organize experiential learning opportunities for MS students.
- Help with teaching and course development for the Online MS in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.
- Contribute to the university community through engaged teaching, participation in its intellectual life, and excellence in innovative scholarship.
