About The Position
The College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CONHS) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) invites applications for a tenure-track Associate Professor of Nursing Practice beginning Fall 2027. This is a 9-month academic appointment with a possible summer appointment and will be located at the Corpus Christi campus. Faculty members are required to be physically on campus as needed to contribute to academic mission of the College and University.
Requirements
- Hold a research focused PhD in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Current unencumbered RN and/or APRN License in the State of Texas by the time of appointment
- An established program of research and scholarship with a record of successful funding
- Experience in higher education including classroom and/or clinical teaching
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience at the Assistant Professor or comparable rank is required to be considered for an Associate Professor rank

- Experience coordinating academic nursing programs
- Experience in teaching and developing nursing leadership and management courses
- Records of professional service at local or national levels
- Teaching experience at the graduate level
- Experience with web-based course delivery, including on-line course development, online teaching, and application of best practices in online education
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and with community practice partners
Responsibilities

- Provide student support to include mentoring, advising, recruiting, and DNP student project supervision
- Ensure adherence to program policies, course objectives, program outcomes and current teaching, clinical, and simulation best practices and safety measures
- Maintain content and clinical mastery
- Participate in college, university and professional service activities
- Maintain an active program of scholarship and disseminate scholarly work through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and other appropriate venues
