About The Position

We are seeking an Associate Product Manager - Light Commercial Controls - to join our Syracuse, NY team! In this role, you will work directly with product managers and internal/external stakeholders to support customers, gather product requirements, prioritize feature implementations, and drive programs to completion - enabling the successful sale of light commercial products. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical discipline
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with commercial HVAC controls, including controllers, sensors, and/or building automation systems

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC industry experience, preferred
  • Experience with Carrier Light Commercial Unit Controllers
  • Experience with commercial packaged units is also preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills
  • Have an ability to coordinate across multiple functions, to maintain composure in high pressure situations, and to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a combination of excellent technical skills, be a self-starter, with strong business understanding, strong self-direction, and excellent interpersonal/influencing skills to work across the Carrier organization and with customers
  • Have a personality defined by positivity, responsibility, integrity, accountability, and respect culminating in a strong work ethic

Responsibilities

  • Increasing sales and profitability of the light commercial product line
  • Presale customer support for light commercial rooftop and controls questions
  • Contributing to marketing strategies for new and existing products
  • Collecting competitive product/services data and conducting market research of consumer behavior to develop product requirements and specifications
  • Collaborate with the light commercial product management team to identify near-term and mid-term business strategies relating to the development of technologies, services, and follow-on products to ensure profitability and positioning in the market.
  • Track product/service development and develop product/service launch plans to effectively manage a product or service category's life cycle and ensure profitability
  • Prioritize the implementation of new features and set specific timelines
  • Support sustaining efforts to ensure timely completion and implementation of fixes
  • Develop sales and marketing tools that assist the field sales force in their selling efforts of light commercial product lines
