You will report to the Engineering Manager and are expected to be the technical point of contact in many areas. This includes proposal support, program kick-off, design reviews, qualification, and production of the hardware.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or comparable field of technology and 0-3 years of experience.
  • The ability to write work instructions
  • Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate with manufacturing, assembly and test teammates.
  • Self-starting instincts, solid analytical skills, and a strong sense of ownership for responsible products.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Ability to work onsite in East Aurora, NY (remote candidates will not be considered).

Responsibilities

  • Provide assembly/test instructions, training and monitoring to maintain production.
  • Assure and maintain design integrity, producibility and quality in development and production products.
  • Develop and improve tools, fixtures and test equipment.
  • Perform engineering analysis to assess non-conformances or technical issues that occur during assembly and test.
  • Develop RCCA analyses that ensure long-term solutions to prevent recurring problems.
  • Contribute to customer presentations or technical review meetings.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to work through roadblocks and ensure on-time delivery of hardware.
  • Participate in hands on prototyping of new products during the development phase working closely with the design team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute programs and deliver hardware to the customer.
  • Contribute to the analysis, design, development, and test of complex hardware.
  • Identify and execute plans to improve cost and schedule on development and production programs.
  • Generate technical data, reports, and procedures for assigned programs.
  • For production programs, serve as technical focal point for internal and external customers.
