About The Position

Great American Risk Solutions is seeking an Associate Product Analyst or Product Analyst to join their team. This role is crucial in developing new products and enhancing existing ones to ensure competitiveness and profitability. The position involves market research, collaboration with various internal teams (underwriting, actuarial, claims, marketing, business development, and operations), and data analysis to drive product strategy and improvements. The ideal candidate will contribute to designing innovative insurance solutions, developing product specifications, pricing strategies, and policy language, as well as conducting SWOT analyses and developing product/rate revisions and underwriting guidelines. The role also involves supporting product launches and providing training on new products and changes. Great American's culture emphasizes connection, shared learning, and strong relationships, with employees expected to be on-site four days a week (Tuesday-Thursday) with one day remote flexibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Field of Study: Liberal Arts, Business or a related discipline.
  • Generally, 0 to 3 years of related experience.
  • May be in the process of obtaining or may have already completed certification in area of expertise; appropriate certifications could include Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Program in General Insurance (INS), Associate of Risk Management (ARM) and/or continuing education as a professional trainer (Certified Trainer, Train-the-Trainer, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in developing new products and/or solutions to enhance premium volume growth and ensures the competitiveness and profitability of existing products.
  • Conducts market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape.
  • Collaborates with underwriting, actuarial, and claims teams to assist in designing innovative insurance solutions and developing product specifications, pricing strategies, and policy language.
  • Analyzes market data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product enhancements and improvements and new product development.
  • Participates in developing and executing product strategies and roadmaps to achieve business goals.
  • Participates in conducting SWOT analysis to evaluate product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
  • Participates in developing product and rate revisions, underwriting guidelines, manuals, and procedures.
  • Works with marketing, business development, and insurance operations teams to ensure successful product launches and ongoing product support.
  • May participate in developing and presenting trainings regarding new products and product changes to internal teams and agents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
