About The Position

The Associate Producer is responsible for producing game highlights from concept through completion, including rough-cut editing and cue sheet creation. The role conceptualizes and recommends production elements to enhance storytelling and overall content production, including b-roll, telestration, graphics, and animations for studio shows. The position is unionized, requires union membership, and is identified as a project employee. Assignment end dates are tentative and subject to change. The NBA offers eligible employees the option to work remotely one day per week; this position is otherwise designated in-office.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of studio, sports news, or related experience, with an emphasis on sports programming.
• Ability to interpret game storylines and create and assemble compelling highlights.
• Proficiency with non-linear Adobe editing systems and sports production processes.
• High level of knowledge of sports production, specifically the NBA.
• Deep knowledge of current and historical NBA storylines.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to communicate quickly and efficiently.
• Willingness to work evenings.

Responsibilities

• Ideate and produce daily highlight packages from conception to delivery.
• Tell the story of an assigned game through video elements and a shot-sheet script.
• Produce telestration or specialty elements as requested.
• Generate daily ideas that reflect NBA and game-specific storylines.
• Conceptualize and recommend production elements to enhance storytelling and content production.
