About The Position

The Arcadis Toronto office is looking for an Associate Principal to join our Healthcare team. You will collaborate with a highly qualified team of healthcare architects, medical planners and interior designers working on a variety of healthcare projects in Ontario, as well as across Canada and internationally. The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning and development of healthcare facilities along with engaging clients and teams delivering creative solutions. This position provides an opportunity to work with collaborative teams throughout various project stages delivering innovative healthcare solutions for our clients. Candidates should be experienced in all phases of healthcare planning and design and looking to accept a leadership role.

Requirements

  • 10-15 years of demonstrated design, planning, and leadership experience across a range of healthcare project types and scales.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare design and delivery, along with ability to develop and nurture relationships internally and externally.
  • Experience with strategic positioning for healthcare P3 pursuits including client engagement, fee negotiations, responding to Expression of Interests, Statement of Qualifications, Request for Proposals, and participation in formal interviews.
  • Experience managing and mentoring a team of architects, technologists and designers.
  • Strong business development skills with proven ability to manage financial/business aspects of practice.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Be the Architectural project leader for the design and delivery of a wide range of healthcare projects through to successful completion while supporting growth objectives of the healthcare practice.
  • Participate in local and regional business development activities and client meetings to facilitate strategic direction for healthcare projects including pre-positioning for projects, generating work, and maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Interface regularly with architectural and engineering leaders across the region to maintain industry relationships and visibility of current and upcoming projects.
  • Mentor, coach, oversight and management of studio members to achieve high performance, growth, and personal development while being accountable for resource utilization and profitability.
  • Collaborate with technical and managerial project leads to achieve key operational performance metrics.
