About The Position

At Enverus, we’re committed to empowering the global quality of life by helping our customers make energy affordable and accessible to the world. We are the most trusted energy-dedicated SaaS company, with a platform built to maximize value from generative AI, and our innovative solutions are reshaping the way energy is consumed and managed. By offering anytime, anywhere access to analytics and insights, we’re helping our customers make better decisions that help provide communities around the world with clean, affordable energy. The energy industry is changing fast. But we’ve continued to lead the way in energy technology, creating intelligent connections across the entire energy ecosystem, from renewables, power and utilities, to oil and gas and financial institutions. Our solutions create more efficient production and distribution, capital allocation, renewable energy development, investment and sourcing, and help reduce costs by automating crucial business operations. Of course, this wouldn’t be possible without our people, which is why we have built a team of individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds. Are you ready to help power the global quality of life? Join Enverus, and be a part of creating a brighter, more sustainable tomorrow. You’ll join the team that produces the definitive asset-level research on North American power generation and storage: renewables (wind and solar), thermal (gas, coal, nuclear), and energy storage. Our clients are institutional investors, IPP developers, hyperscalers, utilities, and corporate strategy teams making real capital decisions on the assets you cover. You won’t be one specialist in a deep stack; you’ll get exposure across the full asset stack and grow into the area you naturally take to. This role reports to Scott Wilmot, who leads Power Assets. This is an in-office role based at our Calgary headquarters with regular travel to the US for client meetings and conferences.

Requirements

  • You’re someone people remember after a meeting: clear, confident, curious, and easy to spend an hour with.
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • A track record of doing real things well: academic, internship, side project, startup, sport, or a club you built. We care more about what you’ve built than your GPA.
  • Genuine interest in power generation, the energy transition, and the technologies and companies shaping it.
  • Comfort with structured quantitative reasoning, Excel, and financial concepts.
  • Willingness to live in Calgary and travel to the US for client meetings and conferences.

Nice To Haves

  • Financial modeling, Python or SQL experience.
  • Prior internship or rotation at an IPP, utility, developer, bank, or research/data provider.
  • Existing familiarity with one of renewables, thermal, or energy storage.
  • Experience or familiarity with US power markets.

Responsibilities

  • Help analyze power generation and storage assets across renewables (wind, solar), thermal (gas, coal, nuclear), and energy storage.
  • Contribute to written research that helps our clients make better investment and development decisions.
  • Build and maintain asset-level economic models using project filings, investor materials, ISO/RTO data, EIA, FERC, and other government and industry data sources.
  • Update, maintain and improve proprietary databases critical for formulating opinions on assets (operational metrics, economic assumptions, financial data) in partnership with product and data science teams.
  • Aggregate and analyze large data sets to identify trends, characterize opportunities, value assets, value companies, and form opinions on market activity.
  • Contribute charts, exhibits, and written content to research publications integrated with the Enverus Prism™ platform.
  • Participate in client calls alongside senior team members.
  • Own your own projects from day one and pull in senior team members for guidance.

Benefits

  • Enverus is the leading energy SaaS company delivering highly technical insights and predictive/prescriptive analytics that empower customers to make decisions that increase profit.
  • We are a strategic partner to more than 6,000 customers in 50 countries, delivering business-critical insights to the global energy industry through a state-of-the-art SaaS platform built on industry-leading data and analytics.
  • Our Power & Renewables Intelligence team produces research for institutional investors, hyperscalers, IPP developers, utilities, and corporate strategy teams.
  • If you want to shape how the North American grid gets built over the next decade, this is the place to be.
