This entry-level technician role focuses on learning core plastic molding processes, assisting with mold setup, machine operation, and basic troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • High School diploma (or equivalent)
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Basic understanding of plastic manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machinery operations.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing setting.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in training and learns about Greif systems, assisting to set up, monitor, and troubleshoot blow molding, injection molding, or extrusion molding machinery.
  • Assists in the setup of machinery for different production runs, following established procedures to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Communicates machinery issues to maintenance.
  • Assists in the operation of plastic molding, extrusion, and other plastic processing equipment.
  • Learns and helps monitor the production process, ensuring machines are running efficiently and producing high-quality products.
  • Performs routine maintenance duties on cleaning and basic adjustments to machinery.
  • Troubleshoots minor machine issues under the supervision of senior technicians.
  • Documents production data, maintenance activities, and quality data observed during production.
  • Performs basic quality control checks, ensuring products meet required specifications and industry standards.
  • Participates in quality assurance activities such as inspection and testing of products.
  • Works closely with senior technicians, operators, and supervisors to ensure daily production operation.
  • Follows standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines while performing tasks.
  • Prepares raw materials and additives for use in production.
  • Loads materials into machinery and ensures proper feeding during production runs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
