About The Position

Wells Fargo is hiring an Associate Personal Banker (SAFE) for its National Branch in Canby, Oregon. This frontline role builds customer relationships and supports everyday banking needs through in-branch interactions, scheduled conversations, and proactive outreach. The banker learns about customers’ goals and connects them with relevant banking products, services, and digital tools. The role supports account openings, service requests, and credit applications while collaborating with branch teammates to provide a consistent, high-quality customer experience. Success requires relationship-building, sound judgment, and balancing service with growth. Wells Fargo provides training and coaching to support career growth and mobility. SAFE registration is required at the time of employment; Wells Fargo initiates the process after the start date. Loan Originators must meet applicable LO/CFPB requirements and Wells Fargo policies, including standards related to financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background. A credit report may be reviewed, and additional ongoing screening may apply. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience interacting with customers, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays.
SAFE registration is required at the time of employment; Wells Fargo will initiate the process after the start date.
Loan Originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements and Wells Fargo policies, including standards related to financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in financial services or a highly regulated, customer-facing role, with comfort following structured processes and maintaining accuracy and service standards.
Experience building trust-based customer relationships through active listening, follow-up, and consistent engagement.
Comfort initiating outreach by calls, emails, or other channels to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities to support customer needs.
Comfort with digital tools and technology and the ability to quickly learn systems and guide customers in adopting useful capabilities.

Responsibilities

Build lasting customer relationships through proactive conversations that support financial well-being and deepen engagement.
Lead discovery-driven conversations to understand customer needs and connect them with relevant banking products, services, and solutions.
Identify opportunities, promote solutions, and make appropriate referrals to meet customer and business goals.
Support everyday banking needs, including opening new accounts, handling service requests, and assisting with credit applications.
Handle cash and perform teller-line activities, processing transactions accurately and in compliance with operational standards.
Use and adopt digital tools and technologies to enhance customer experiences and support changing banking needs.
Deliver accurate, compliant service while exercising sound judgment within defined risk controls.
Coordinate with branch teammates to make seamless handoffs to licensed bankers or other specialists.
Flex between cash handling and customer banking activities, emphasizing account openings and ongoing account support.
Follow applicable risk and compliance programs, policies, and procedures; identify and escalate concerns and support timely remediation.
