About The Position

Wells Fargo is hiring an Associate Personal Banker (SAFE) for its National Branch Network. This frontline role builds customer relationships and supports everyday banking needs through in-branch interactions, scheduled conversations, and proactive outreach. The banker learns about customers’ goals and connects them with relevant banking products, services, and digital tools. The role supports account openings, service requests, and credit applications while collaborating with branch teammates to deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience. It offers a foundation for career growth and mobility, supported by training and coaching. The position involves balancing customer service and business growth, handling cash and teller-line transactions, using digital tools, and following operational, regulatory, and risk controls. The schedule includes Saturdays, and the employee must flex between cash handling and customer banking activities. SAFE registration is required at employment; Wells Fargo initiates the process after the start date. Loan Originators must meet applicable LO/CFPB requirements and Wells Fargo standards, and screening may include a credit report and ongoing checks. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. The posting location is 2598 Fair Oaks Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95825. The stated base pay range is $23.00–$31.00; employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience interacting with customers, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education, or a combination.
Ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays.
SAFE registration is required at the time of employment; Wells Fargo initiates the process after the start date.
Loan Originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements and comply with Wells Fargo policies, including standards related to financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background.

Nice To Haves

Prior financial-services or other highly regulated, customer-facing experience, demonstrating comfort with structured processes, accuracy, and service expectations.

Responsibilities

Build lasting customer relationships through proactive, meaningful conversations that support financial well-being and deepen engagement.
Conduct discovery-driven conversations to understand customer needs and connect them with relevant banking products, services, and solutions.
Identify opportunities, promote solutions, and make appropriate referrals to support customer and business goals.
Support everyday banking needs, including new account openings, service requests, and credit applications.
Handle cash and perform teller-line activities, processing transactions accurately and maintaining compliance and operational standards.
Use and adopt digital tools and technologies to enhance the customer experience and support evolving banking needs.
Deliver accurate, compliant service and exercise sound judgment within defined risk controls.
Coordinate with branch teammates to provide seamless handoffs to licensed bankers or other specialists.
Flex between cash handling and customer banking activities, with an emphasis on account openings and ongoing account support.
Follow applicable risk and compliance programs, policies, and procedures; identify, escalate, and remediate issues as appropriate.
