About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking an Associate Personal Banker (SAFE) for its National Branch in Aberdeen, South Dakota. In this frontline role, the banker builds customer relationships through in-branch interactions, scheduled conversations, and proactive outreach, learning about customers’ goals and connecting them with relevant banking products, services, and digital tools. The role supports account openings, service requests, and credit applications while collaborating with branch teammates to provide a consistent, high-quality customer experience. Success requires relationship-building, sound judgment, and balancing customer service with business growth. Wells Fargo provides training and coaching to support career growth and mobility. SAFE registration is required at employment; Wells Fargo initiates the process after the employee’s start date. Loan originators must meet applicable LO/CFPB requirements and Wells Fargo standards, and may be subject to credit-report review and ongoing screening. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience interacting with customers, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education, or a combination of these.
SAFE registration is required at the time of employment; Wells Fargo will initiate the registration process after the start date.
Loan originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements and Wells Fargo policies, including standards related to financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background.
Ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays.

Responsibilities

Build lasting customer relationships through proactive conversations that support financial well-being and engagement.
Lead discovery conversations to understand customer needs and connect customers with relevant banking products, services, and solutions.
Identify opportunities, promote solutions, and make appropriate referrals to support branch growth and customer and business goals.
Support everyday banking needs, including opening accounts, handling service requests, and processing credit applications.
Perform cash handling and teller-line activities, accurately processing transactions in accordance with compliance and operational standards.
Use and adopt digital tools and technologies to enhance the customer experience and support changing banking needs.
Deliver accurate, compliant service and exercise sound judgment within defined risk controls.
Coordinate with branch teammates and make seamless handoffs to licensed bankers or other specialists.
Flex between cash handling and customer banking activities to support branch operations, account openings, and ongoing account support.
Work a schedule that includes Saturdays.
Follow applicable risk and compliance programs, policies, and procedures; identify and escalate concerns and remediate issues as appropriate.
