About The Position

This role will work closely with Legal department management, attorneys and other legal professionals to assist with the administrative functions necessary to ensure the processes associated with legal risk and complying with regulatory requirements are managed appropriately.

Requirements

• Well-organized and capable of handling several substantial assignments at the same time
• Self-starter with ability to work independently as well as on a team and to quickly shift priorities in response to changing business environment or priorities
• Excellent analytical, written and oral communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively, including through effective communication, with internal clients from different departments
• Ability to promptly produce high-quality, accurate, and detailed work product, often regarding complex and technical subject matters
• Ability to work in a capacity with strict privacy and confidentiality requirements
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Nice To Haves

• Experience with preparing and submitting regulatory filings to financial regulators
• Experience with Sharepoint, JIRA, and project management
• Experience with Claude, or other AI tools
• Degree from an accredited college or university
• In-house legal department or law firm experience
• Paralegal certificate

Responsibilities

• Draft and assist in the preparation of legal memoranda, rule filings and exhibits and other legal documents, policies, and procedures
• Attend company internal governance group meetings and draft notes for same, often regarding complex and technical subject matter
• Prepare, maintain and share with appropriate stakeholders documents that track progress on several different regulatory filings or projects
• Effectively communicate the status of regulatory filings and other related updates with internal stakeholders
• Manage and submit confidentiality requests, including FOIA requests, to regulators
• Understand, manage, and follow department policies, procedures, and controls, as well as track the updating of same
• Interface with outside counsel, as needed, with respect to matters described above
• Perform internet and legal research as requested
• Update and maintain electronic corporate files, databases, email, web-based materials and directories
• Track and ensure compliance with internal departmental requirements
• Assist in the maintenance of Legal department records in accordance with company records retention schedule and applicable regulatory requirements
• Assist with other projects as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
