About The Position

The Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan invites applications for a tenured faculty position (Associate or Full Professor) in the Technology and Operations area, with a research focus on sustainable and resilient semiconductor manufacturing and supply-chain operations. This appointment is part of a major interdisciplinary faculty cluster — Sustainable Semiconductors for a Secure Future — that spans the Ross School of Business and the College of Engineering (Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering). The ideal candidate would have research expertise on sustainability (e.g., low-carbon manufacturing, circular economy), supply chain resiliency (e.g., risk assessment, supply chain design), and/or advanced manufacturing (e.g., semiconductor, electronics).

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field such as Economics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
  • A record of excellence in business research.
  • A record of excellence in business teaching.
  • A record of excellence in business leadership commensurate with appointment rank.

Nice To Haves

  • Research expertise on sustainability (e.g., low-carbon manufacturing, circular economy).
  • Research expertise on supply chain resiliency (e.g., risk assessment, supply chain design).
  • Research expertise on advanced manufacturing (e.g., semiconductor, electronics).

  • Experience mentoring a diverse community of students and junior researchers.
