The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with at least four years experience in the equipment maintenance field is required.
Must have a valid US Driver's License.
4+ years’ experience in engineering discipline as identified in purpose & scope.
Knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (i.e. CADD, AutoCAD, MicroStation, SKM, ETAP, PLC interface software, etc.).
Capable of using spreadsheets, word processing and standard Microsoft Office software to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
Able to understand system schematics and specifications to generate basic work authorizing documents.
Strong ability to use data and analysis to make fast data-driven decisions.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and reason.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Nice To Haves

Experience with computerized maintenance management systems is highly desired.

Responsibilities

System engineer responsible to provide engineering support to ensure department equipment (cranes, doors, platforms) is properly maintained and able to support KSC operations.
Engineer will develop work documents (WADs) for department equipment to include maintenance job plans, operational job plans, and non-conformance job plans.
Provides troubleshooting support for equipment as required and provides task team leader responsibilities when necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
