About The Position
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager at Maitland Hospital supports clinical leadership and the delivery of high-quality nursing care. The role contributes to team coordination, mentors staff, and supports day-to-day service delivery and continuous improvement, working in support of the Nurse Unit Manager. Opportunities are available as a permanent part-time contract for 24 hours per week or a temporary part-time contract for 16 hours per week, up to 17 January 2028.
Requirements
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with a practising certificate.
- Strong leadership, communication, and education skills.
- Commitment to patient safety and continuous improvement.
- Satisfactory criminal history checks and compliance with applicable immunisation requirements, including Category A immunisation risk requirements.
Responsibilities
- Promote continuity and consistency of care in collaboration with the team.
- Assist in implementing practice changes under the guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager.
- Provide leadership to nursing and midwifery staff in the health service in support of the Nurse Unit Manager.
- Undertake management responsibilities, including performance management, recruitment, rostering, and financial planning.
- Contribute to team coordination, staff mentoring, day-to-day service delivery, and continuous improvement.
