As an Associate Microbiologist, you will perform and document routine tasks related to sample processing and assays using established laboratory methods and techniques. Applying your knowledge gained from education and previous experience, you’ll modify, calculate, interpret data from tests, ensuring accurate records and ensure efficient operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related field
  • 1+ years of overall laboratory experience
  • 6+ months of professional experience working in a microbiology quality laboratory
  • 6+ months of experience with rapid method techniques for pathogen detection

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience working with microbiology dilution schemes is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Receive, register, and prepare samples for general analytical testing through data entry, weighing, and physical homogenization per Nestlé Purina Analytical Laboratories methods
  • Operate basic laboratory equipment such as balances, pH meter, spectrophotometer, autoclave, etc.
  • Read and record results of analyses, making sure to keep identification numbers matched with correct samples
  • Wash glassware, clean equipment, and maintain 5S in all areas of the laboratory
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining QA documents, plans, and ICPs to ensure quality results
  • Document quality assurance data and report findings to the supervisor
  • Maintain laboratory equipment in reliable working order; perform repairs or request assistance
