Associate Medical Director - Suncoast
About The Position
Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health is seeking an Associate Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and oversight for hospice and palliative care, ensuring high-quality medical care for patients and families. This full-time role includes rounding, leading interdisciplinary teams, managing recertifications and admissions, and coordinating with leadership. The physician supports staff across the organization, oversees symptom management and end-of-life care, and maintains timely documentation, prescriptions, and communication. Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school board certified in a related specialty
- Board Certification
- Current Florida license to practice medicine pursuant to Florida Statue 458 or 459
- Minimum 2 years recent active practice and direct medical care experience
- Hospital staff privileges at one or more hospitals
- Current federal DEA registration and valid CPR
Nice To Haves
- Certification in hospice and palliative medicine strongly preferred
Responsibilities

- Availability to answer calls from nurses and team members.
