About The Position

The Infectious Diseases Division at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital seeks an MD or MD-PhD faculty member at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level to serve as Associate Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control (IP&C). The successful candidate will help lead a nationally recognized program focused on infection prevention and clinical care to improve outcomes for children at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC). The role combines patient care with infection prevention activities, including leadership and scholarship in preventing hospital-acquired infections, engagement with internal and external partners such as public health authorities, and representing IP&C and CCHMC in public forums. Clinical effort is expected to be 35–40%, depending on the candidate’s strengths and career plans. As CCHMC expands its regional, national, and international presence, clinicians may be asked to work at locations outside the Burnet Campus. The IP&C Program includes a Director, an Associate Director, and 13 Infection Preventionists serving 670 beds and specialty and primary care ambulatory facilities. The position offers opportunities to mentor junior faculty and support for individual career goals. Academic efforts are supported by CCHMC infrastructure and a substantial research endowment administered through the Cincinnati Children’s Research Foundation. Applicants must be board-certified or board-eligible in pediatric infectious diseases.
