Requirements

  • Effectively manage conflict and diverse personalities, fostering a calm and collected demeanor.
  • Support direct reports in managing stress levels, minimizing drama and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Approach differing viewpoints with curiosity rather than defensiveness.
  • 7-8+ years of experience in media planning/buying, demonstrating expertise and leadership in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for testing and innovation in media strategy, collaborating with IS counterparts to implement.
  • Assume oversight of campaign management teams, providing quality assurance, troubleshooting, and support.
  • Apply storytelling techniques to presentations, adapting fluidly to adjust strategies in real-time.
  • Provide deep insights into media performance, proactively managing brand impact, and identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
  • Manage media team scope on projects, flagging potential overages and organizing teams accordingly.
  • Define and adjust processes for new tools and technologies as required.
  • Regularly leverage research from media tools to propose and defend innovative ideas.
  • Demonstrate understanding of digital, social, and emerging platforms and technologies.
  • Initiate discussions with partners to influence product roadmaps and capabilities.
  • Establish relationships with IS leads, department leads, client leads, and vendor leads to enhance collaboration and client service.
  • Differentiate between 2nd and 3rd party data sets, applying them appropriately to media strategies.
  • Lead by example, maintaining composure and professionalism in challenging situations, serving as a role model for junior team members.
  • Educate and mentor junior team members on media tools and strategies, fostering their growth and skills development.
  • Assign projects to balance workloads and challenge team members' skills, ensuring projects showcase the agency's capabilities.
  • Offer both formal and informal feedback to direct reports to help grow their creative sensibilities and progress in their craft.
  • Participate in performance reviews for any direct reports and provide coaching to create growth plans for team members as needed.
  • Foster team motivation and maintain a positive attitude that inspires others.
  • Facilitate participation, inclusion, and diversity of perspectives on your team and throughout the agency.
