About The Position

The Robotic Associate Field Service Engineer provides onsite repair, troubleshooting, programming, and maintenance for FANUC robots and systems, scheduled, on an emergency basis, with the ability to travel on short notice and have the flexibility to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, while adhering to company and customer requirements. The ideal candidate is a customer-focused, problem-solver with a “service first” mindset who has experience with FANUC technology.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, including hands-on experience with robotic system troubleshooting and repair
  • Hands-on or educational experience in robotics integration, installation, troubleshooting, and repair environments
  • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of tools and equipment
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting, teardown, and repair
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics and technical documentation, including PLC ladder logic
  • Familiarity with standard machining practices, including tooling, fixtures, and precision measuring gauges
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license, have a reliable personal vehicle for business use, be legally authorized to rent a vehicle in the United States, and be able to travel throughout the assigned service area as required
  • Customer-focused with strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in customer environments with minimal supervision
  • Ability to safely lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • Experience with FANUC robots, controllers, and related equipment; knowledge of older platforms or FANUC CNC controls is a plus
  • Proven ability to analyze customer issues and deliver timely, effective solutions
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and ability to work in compliance with OSHA regulations

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair robot operational, mechanical, electrical, and process issues reported by customers or technical support, including telephone-based support when needed
  • Document equipment performance, failure modes, and repair actions to support system recovery and continuous improvement
  • Communicate regularly with Service Supervisor/Manager, Dispatch, and customers to coordinate activities, manage expectations, ensure customer satisfaction, and support proper billing and collections
  • Prepare for service visits by reviewing customer issues and identifying required parts and software; complete detailed Field Service Reports including problem description, corrective actions, and associated labor, material, and travel costs
  • Provide daily status updates on work progress, availability, and job completion
  • Maintain a service toolkit, documentation, and readiness to support rapid customer response, including participation in after-hours support rotation
  • Manage service parts by returning unused or defective components in accordance with company procedures
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively to customer locations (~80%)
