About The Position

CMTA (formerly AMA Group), a Legence company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for overseeing and managing a range of projects, both large and small, with a focus on providing technical leadership in mechanical design. This role involves acting as the client-facing representative for AMA during interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. As a first-level project team manager, the engineer will coordinate and manage team activities and may also be accountable for individual technical design on diverse projects. The company is known for sustainable, high-performance building systems and complex MEP/FP delivery, combining deep technical expertise with an innovative, collaborative culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required
  • PE highly preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering
  • Field experience required
  • People management experience highly preferred
  • Expert knowledge of building codes and standards, engineering drafting standards, mechanical engineering standards, and other trades
  • Expert understanding of the construction process and interpretation of construction drawings
  • Expert knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experiencing managing and assisting in managing project teams
  • Candidates must have current work authorization in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead daily team activities with inside and outside design team members
  • Advance the design of the project with those you supervise
  • Become responsible for managing projects through all phases of development
  • Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex projects
  • Learn and understand contract terms and the scope of service
  • Responsible for all facets of product delivery to assigned clients and shares accountability for satisfaction
  • Manage a significant amount of work as a project manager and be responsible for several projects
  • Build relationships with the design team and/or clients
  • Respond to requests from clients and communicate information on time to strengthen trust in your advisor
  • Work with the Group Leader to inform, manage, and meet project schedules
  • Mentor 1-2 developing engineers
