About The Position

The Associate, Mechanical Engineer works within a multifunctional hangar team to develop engineering solutions for aircraft life-cycle sustainment. The role includes designing, modifying, and repairing aircraft structures, mechanical systems, and mission equipment, and supporting the transition from engineering design to manufacturing and installation. The engineer applies structural analysis and repair-design skills to solve problems of varying complexity, manages multiple concurrent tasks, and makes decisive recommendations. The position requires collaboration with aircraft mechanics, manufacturing, program management, customer representatives, and other engineering disciplines, as well as understanding customer needs and communicating engineering rationale effectively. The engineer works in aircraft hangar and manufacturing environments and may need to access confined aircraft spaces, including fuel tanks, wings, and fuselage, using appropriate safety gear. Flexible work schedules may be required to meet mission needs. The position requires eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
