About The Position

This role is part of Blue Origin Factory Automation, and more specifically, the automation controls panel shop in Titusville, FL. This includes Automation support across all Blue Origin facilities. The Material Mover Associate II is responsible for performing a variety of shop functions, including receiving, storing, handling, and shipping products and materials. This role requires accurate inventory management, safe operation of equipment, and maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse environment. An effective level II inventory specialist is not only able to catch issues, but spot trends and chip into the corrective action to fix said issues. The work you do at Blue Origin will directly contribute to the advancement of safe, repeatable spaceflight and will play a role in Blue Origin’s commitment to building the road to space.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or related field
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
  • Willingness to use powered lifting equipment, jib, crane or hoists
  • Must be open to working all required shift hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed
  • Strong mathematical proficiency and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, etc)
  • Willingness to operate powered lifting equipment, jib, crane or hoists
  • Major or minor in Business, mathematics, supply chain, logistics, or engineering

Responsibilities

  • Complete cycle counts and physical inventories according to established schedules - the cornerstone of inventory accuracy, ensuring actual inventory matches recorded quantities through systematic counting processes
  • Transport items locally via work truck
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance counting efficiency and accuracy
  • Assist shop floor technicians with kit discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Investigate inventory variances to identify root causes
  • Generate regular variance reports and analytics for management review
  • Handling time-sensitive materials, preventing waste, and ensuring only viable products remain in inventory.
  • Maintain shelf-life tracking systems and documentation
  • Process items designated for scrap or obsolescence according to company policy
  • Conduct periodic location audits to verify system accuracy
  • Optimize warehouse slotting based on usage patterns and accessibility
  • Maintain location labeling systems
