About The Position

Be part of a team responsible for monitoring and managing risk associated with Crude and Products trading activities. You will provide risk control analysis for global and regional trading activities. This role will provide insight into commercial trading, exposure to Front Office and an excellent entry point to a career in Risk Management.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant analytical tools.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
0-3 years of experience in a related field.
Demonstrated ability to work with financial data and perform quantitative analysis.
Familiarity with risk management concepts and methodologies.
Basic understanding of financial markets and trading strategies.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis.

Responsibilities

Execute daily risk control process and risk reports; working alongside with traders, operators and IT to manage market risk.
Ensure daily data integrity, validate positions and reconcile data inconsistencies with traders.
Monitor and report daily price exposure, mark-to-market and P&L to management.
Assist in monitoring market trends and analyzing data to identify potential risks specific to trading floors.
Conduct stress testing and analyze exposure limits under the guidance of senior analysts to assess risk levels accurately.
Support in the preparation of reports on market risk metrics such as value at risk (VaR) and scenario analysis.
Collaborate with the risk management team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Assist in the development and maintenance of risk management models and tools used for market risk assessment.
Participate in meetings and discussions to provide insights into market risk factors and potential impacts on trading activities.
Assist in the implementation of risk mitigation strategies and measures to minimize potential losses.
Support senior analysts in ad-hoc projects and tasks related to market risk management and analysis.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the direct manager.
Support collaboration with traders, operators and IT to produce accurate daily risk reports.
Collaborate with team members to discuss risk assessment findings and potential mitigation strategies.
Provide updates to the direct manager regarding ongoing risk analysis projects and any emerging issues.
Liaise with market data providers to gather relevant information for risk analysis.
Communicate with external auditors or regulatory bodies as necessary to provide information related to market risk assessments.
