About The Position

The Associate, Manufacturing Engineering role focuses on manufacturing planning and optimizing manufacturing operations. The position supports efficient, cost-effective production processes aligned with industry standards. It will be instrumental in commissioning a new multi-model production line for Large Solid Rocket Motor products at the Advanced Propulsion Facility, ensuring new manufacturing equipment meets quality standards and safely produces solid rocket motors critical to national security.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 0 to 2 years of prior related experience, or at least 4 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.

Nice To Haves

• 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on manufacturing planning.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing planning tools, such as ERP systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Manufacturing Engineering (CMfgE).
• Proven ability to manage and deliver multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed manufacturing plans to meet production schedules and goals.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure new products are manufacturable.
• Analyze production processes and implement improvements to efficiency, cost, and quality.
• Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to streamline processes and eliminate waste.
• Provide technical support and guidance to production teams to ensure adherence to manufacturing plans.
• Monitor and analyze production data to optimize resource allocation and workflow.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
