About The Position

The Associate Manager on the DashMart Strategy & Operations team, within the category management pod, will act as the general manager and own the end-to-end strategy and performance of the Produce category across the US. This role will lead assortment decisions, vendor partnerships, pricing strategy, and category analytics to accelerate growth and profitability within the Fresh businesses. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Finance, Pricing, and Product to implement category strategies and optimize performance. The role reports into the Manager, Category Management within the New Verticals Strategy & Operations team.

Requirements

  • Solve problems from first principles, embracing innovative solutions and resisting conventional thinking.
  • Be analytical, using data to drive decisions and comfortable pulling data in SQL or modeling in Excel.
  • Operate effectively at both high-level strategic thinking and detailed operational execution.
  • Thrive in ambiguous, startup environments with rapid change and learning.
  • Possess 4-6+ years of professional experience in high-performance cultures (tech, operations, strategy, consulting, manufacturing, automation, engineering, etc.).
  • Completed BS/BA Degree.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience with e-commerce, physical retail, or startup environments.
  • Experience in category management or retail buying.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the General Manager for the Produce category with end-to-end responsibility for category performance, including selection productivity, profitability, affordability, and availability.
  • Own category strategy from first principles, defining assortment architecture, SKU productivity targets, pricing tiers, vendor mix, and promotional approach to maximize growth and margin.
  • Partner closely with Operational teams to ensure high-quality, fresh product is reaching customers.
  • Transform strategies into operational experiments that create measurable and actionable outcomes, informing larger initiative implementation plans.
  • Assess the operational and financial impacts of decisions and iterate based on data.
  • Lead a team of two assortment specialists and partner with a cross-functional team, including local operations, supply chain, and space planning teams.
