About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking a Brand Communications Associate Manager to execute media relations strategies and bring brand stories to life. This role involves introducing, enhancing, and elevating the Warby Parker narrative across various audiences and platforms. You will work with the in-house Communications team and agency partners to activate and build media relationships, driving coverage for eye care offerings, store openings, and brand-defining moments. You will contribute to integrated launch plans, pitch stories, and identify creative ways to tell the Warby Parker story through media, events, partnerships, and collaborations. The ideal candidate is culturally aware, has strong editorial judgment, and is eager to advance a well-established brand by finding fresh, relevant angles while staying true to the company's core values.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience working in communications, media, branding, or marketing
  • A Warby Parker superfan eager to act as a brand ambassador
  • Motivated self-starter with a no-task-too-small approach
  • Ability to work collaboratively and develop consensus across groups and teams
  • Excellent communication skills (in person, email, etc.)
  • Proficient in Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides)
  • Not on the Office of Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)

  • Existing relationships with stylists or experience working closely with them for product placement, talent moments, or fashion-led storytelling

Responsibilities

  • Support functional leaders in crafting stories by creating briefs, drafting messaging points, writing pitches, and producing assets for external-facing initiatives.
  • Proactively pitch and place stories by leveraging established relationships with editors, writers, producers, and creators across fashion, lifestyle, culture, retail, and business media.
  • Build and maintain relationships across traditional media and newer channels, including newsletters, podcasts, Substack writers, stylists, influencers, creative tastemakers, and independent journalists.
  • Continuously assess opportunities for Warby Parker to engage in relevant cultural moments, identifying creative opportunities and new formats to evolve the brand story.
  • Support the planning and execution of brand moments (events, partnerships, collaborations) as storytelling vehicles, ensuring they translate into meaningful cultural and media impact.
  • Work with retail partners to coordinate local events, partnerships, and media opportunities, managing execution from concept to follow-through.
  • Field daily inquiries from the PR agency and external media, exercising judgment to capitalize on timely and high-impact press opportunities.
  • Partner with the Communications team and PR agency to compile quarterly PR reports, analyzing results and surfacing insights for future strategy.
  • Maintain and improve Communications processes and asset management systems for team efficiency and creativity.
  • In partnership with the Corporate Communications team, maintain the communications content calendar and propose story ideas for consistent coverage.
