About The Position

Department Details: Like variety? This job does it all. Work on a variety of work orders related to all of the trades. Duties may include preventative maintenance, bed repair, changing out lights, or unclog drains. Summary: Responsible for light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks completed under supervision in a safe, professional manner. Job Description: Must take extra precautions when working in patient/resident care areas and specifically keep tools out of the reach of children. Must possess basic mechanical knowledge and show competence in the use of hand tools, meters, measuring devices and gauges. A familiarity of blueprints, schematics and technical manuals helpful. Must be able to explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting. Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled. Must comply with all corporate and facility policies and dress code. Understand written and verbal communications. Works independently with minimal supervision. Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances. Depending on facility size, additional duties may include but are not limited to: perform installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations, to ensure a safe and efficient environment; maintain campus grounds and perform other outside maintenance duties; perform general duties such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair and maintenance. May require on-call duties as needed or as directed by the department.

Requirements

  • Basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Competence in the use of hand tools, meters, measuring devices and gauges.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity of blueprints, schematics and technical manuals.
  • Experience in all types of building maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record (depending on location).
  • CPR/BLS certification (depending on location, may be required upon hire).
