About The Position

SitusAMC is seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial Associate, Loan Originations (Business Development) to join its commercial real estate lending platform. The position focuses on the early stages of loan origination: identifying and qualifying prospective borrowers, developing new relationships, and supporting senior originators through initial transaction execution. It is suited to candidates with sales-oriented real estate experience who want to build a career in commercial real estate lending and loan origination. The associate generates and qualifies lending opportunities, maintains prospect and pipeline information, gathers borrower materials, and prepares opportunity summaries for internal review. The role also supports senior originators during transaction evaluation, quoting, and application issuance; coordinates with underwriting and execution teams; and participates in borrower and internal meetings. The successful candidate is primarily a business developer and relationship-builder, rather than a pure underwriting or analytical professional. The annual full-time base salary range is $140,000 to $165,000. Eligible full-time employees may participate in benefit plans, subject to applicable plan terms and eligibility. Certain positions may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus.

Requirements

Demonstrated interest in generating business through direct outreach and relationship development.
Experience prospecting property owners, borrowers, or real estate investors.
Success developing opportunities through outbound calls, email campaigns, networking, and relationship-building.
Comfort working in a highly entrepreneurial and performance-oriented environment.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Desire to build a career in commercial real estate loan origination.

Nice To Haves

1–5 years of experience in commercial real estate brokerage, mortgage brokerage, investment sales, debt placement, business development, commercial real estate advisory services, or commercial real estate lending.
Commercial real estate, financial, or lending knowledge.

Responsibilities

Generate lending opportunities through proactive outreach to commercial real estate owners, operators, sponsors, and borrowers.
Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective loan opportunities through calls, emails, networking, referrals, and market coverage.
Cultivate relationships that can lead to repeat business and long-term borrower partnerships.
Work with the Head of Origination and senior originators on business development strategies, outreach campaigns, and prospecting.
Track pipeline activity and opportunities in the firm's CRM platform.
Conduct preliminary assessments of prospective loans based on property type, loan size, leverage requirements, sponsorship profile, alignment with lending strategy, and likelihood of successful CMBS execution.
Gather borrower information and supporting documentation.
Prepare loan opportunity summaries and qualification materials for internal review.
Present qualified opportunities to senior originators and coordinate their handoff into the transaction process.
Support senior originators in early transaction evaluation, quoting, and application issuance.
Remain involved during the Deal Received, Quote Issued, and Application Issued stages of origination.
Coordinate with underwriting and execution teams to support deal review and progression.
Participate in borrower meetings, transaction discussions, and internal pipeline reviews.
Help maintain visibility into active transactions and market opportunities.
Develop and maintain relationships with borrowers, brokers, and other commercial real estate market participants.
Support ongoing client engagement throughout the transaction lifecycle.
