About The Position

SitusAMC is seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Associate, Loan Originations (Business Development) for its commercial real estate lending platform. The role focuses on the front end of the origination process: identifying and qualifying prospective borrowers, developing new relationships, and supporting senior originators through the early stages of transaction execution. It is suited to someone who enjoys direct outreach, relationship-building, client interaction, and business development, and who wants to build a long-term career in commercial real estate loan origination. The opportunity may be a fit for candidates with commercial real estate brokerage, mortgage brokerage, investment sales, or other sales-oriented real estate experience. The successful candidate will generate and qualify lending opportunities, maintain a prospective-loan pipeline, prepare opportunity summaries, and support senior originators and internal teams as transactions progress through early origination stages. The role also involves developing relationships with borrowers, brokers, and other commercial real estate participants, and supporting ongoing client engagement throughout the transaction lifecycle.

Requirements

Demonstrated interest in creating opportunities through direct outreach and relationship development.
Experience prospecting property owners, borrowers, or real estate investors.
Success developing opportunities through outbound calling, email campaigns, networking, and relationship-building.
Comfort working in a highly entrepreneurial and performance-oriented environment.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Interest in building a career in commercial real estate loan origination.

Nice To Haves

1–5 years of experience in commercial real estate brokerage, mortgage brokerage, investment sales, debt placement, business development, commercial real estate advisory services, or commercial real estate lending.
Commercial real estate and financial knowledge.

Responsibilities

Generate lending opportunities through proactive outreach to commercial real estate owners, operators, sponsors, and borrowers.
Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective loan opportunities through calls, emails, networking, referrals, and market coverage.
Identify and cultivate relationships that may lead to repeat business and long-term borrower partnerships.
Partner with the Head of Origination and senior originators on business development strategies, outreach campaigns, and prospecting.
Track pipeline activity and opportunities in the firm's CRM platform.
Conduct preliminary assessments of opportunities based on property type, loan size, leverage requirements, sponsorship profile, fit with the firm's lending strategy, and likelihood of successful CMBS execution.
Gather borrower information and supporting documentation.
Prepare loan opportunity summaries and qualification materials for internal review.
Present qualified opportunities to senior originators and coordinate their handoff into the transaction process.
Support senior originators during initial transaction evaluation, quoting, and application issuance.
Remain involved during the Deal Received, Quote Issued, and Application Issued stages of the origination process.
Coordinate with underwriting and execution teams to facilitate deal review and progression.
Participate in borrower meetings, transaction discussions, and internal pipeline review meetings.
Help maintain visibility into active transactions and market opportunities.
Develop and maintain relationships with borrowers, brokers, and other commercial real estate market participants.
Support ongoing client engagement throughout the transaction lifecycle.
Perform other related duties and participate in additional trainings as required.
