Associate Loads and Dynamics Engineer
About The Position
The Boeing Defense, Space & Security organization is seeking an Associate Loads and Dynamics Engineer to support fixed-wing aircraft programs in Berkeley, Missouri. The role supports loads and dynamics assessments for aircraft programs within the Air Dominance division. It involves analytical problem solving and coordination with teammates, internal suppliers, and customers, drawing on technical knowledge in areas such as external loads, structural dynamics, aeroelastic stability, aerodynamics, aircraft stability and control, and finite element modeling. The position is contingent upon program award. Candidates must satisfy Boeing’s Conflict of Interest assessment process and meet U.S. export control requirements. The role requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance is required after starting. U.S. citizenship is required for the clearance and program access. Boeing will not sponsor employment visas. This is not a Safety Sensitive Position.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or directly related non-U.S. equivalent qualifications.
- At least 2 years of work-related experience with a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of work-related experience and technical education.
- Coursework and/or work experience in one or more of the following: aerodynamics, stability and control, structural dynamics, aeroelasticity, or finite element modeling (FEM).
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance is required post-start.
- U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance and program access.
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a U.S. Person.
- Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest assessment process.
Nice To Haves
- Active Secret-level U.S. security clearance.
- Proficiency with a higher-level programming language such as C, MATLAB, or Python.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA), vibrations analysis, and/or multi-body dynamics (MBD).
- Prior experience with static or dynamic external loads analysis.
- Prior experience with air vehicle ground and/or flight testing.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing air vehicle requirements.
- Create vehicle-level models for loads and dynamics analysis.
- Perform loads and dynamics analysis to support air vehicle design, including flight and ground simulations for loads, flutter and divergence analysis, and noise and vibration assessments.
- Assist in developing flight and ground test requirements and plans.
- Support ground and flight testing through pre-test analysis, real-time monitoring of test conditions, post-processing test data, and documenting test results.
- Support airworthiness activities with regulatory agencies and internal and external customers through correspondence, presentations, and documentation.
- Assist in developing vehicle flight envelopes and operational limits.
