About The Position

The Boeing Company's Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) Organization is seeking an Associate Liaison Engineer specializing in Production Review in Tukwila, WA. This role requires proactive individuals capable of making quick engineering decisions and engaging in hands-on engineering within the factory. The position demands excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner closely with production personnel. The ideal candidate will apply engineering principles to assess and resolve product/process aircraft issues throughout the product/aircraft lifecycle, including analyzing, conducting root cause analysis, and developing dispositions for design non-conformances. They will also identify, document, and communicate deviations impacting design intent and safety, and develop/implement product/process improvements. Candidates must be willing to work variable shifts, including potential rotations covering first, second, or third shifts, as well as weekend, daily overtime, and holiday support as required by production. The role involves daily exposure to a factory environment, which includes stairs, trip hazards, high noise areas, chemical hazards (breathing and handling), and entering airplanes during various stages of build. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime.
  • Ability to meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, requiring a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship; an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Responsibilities

  • Applies basic knowledge of Boeing design and/or engineering principles to develop interim or final engineering solutions to product/process issues throughout production and/or for technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer.
  • Analyzes, conducts failure analysis, root cause analysis, and troubleshoots to understand root cause.
  • Provides assistance to identify solutions.
  • Provides written dispositions for routine design non-conformances.
  • Supports activities to identify deviations that could impact design intent and safety and product/process improvements.
  • Develops routine customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Participates in Material Review Boards (MRBs) and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Ensures that supplier and build partner comply with Boeing standards.
  • Represents the engineering community in the build through post-production environment.
  • Recommends simple, non-destructive test procedures, tools, and standards.
  • Conducts simple static strength analysis to validate interim design repairs meet original design loads criteria.
