About The Position

The Lab Aide I is responsible for completing and maintaining competency in phlebotomy, specimen processing, and basic client service tasks. As a phlebotomist, the expectation is to obtain blood samples from patients in a timely manner while following proper collection policy. Completion of phlebotomy competency will be required after 3 months of starting in this position. As a specimen processor, the aide will ensure appropriate labeling has occurred and handle specimen according to policy. Completion of Specimen processing competency will be required after 3 months of starting in this position. The basic client service tasks entail: requisition entry, requisition checks, and filing. Requirements

  • Completion of phlebotomy competency within 3 months of starting.
  • Completion of Specimen processing competency within 3 months of starting.
  • Completion of basic client service competency within 1 year of starting.

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy Certification upon hire.
  • Experience as a phlebotomist and/or completion of a Phlebotomy program.
