About The Position

iSoftStone, Inc. is seeking an Associate IT Support Engineer to join their team in Montreal, Canada. This is a part-time (20 hours per week/4 hours per day) hybrid role. Candidates must reside in the Greater Montreal Area and be willing and able to travel occasionally to Toronto, Vancouver, or other Canadian offices when on-site intervention is necessary. This role also provides remote support coverage for Toronto.

Requirements

  • Two to three years of hands-on experience in IT Support, Helpdesk, or Systems Administration.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Solid understanding of foundational networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, VPN configuration).
  • Experience managing cloud-based office suites (O365 or Google Workspace).
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) with excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess valid legal authorization to work in Canada.
  • Desire to work part-time, approximately 4 hours per day (schedule to be negotiated.)
  • Willingness to provide remote support coverage for Toronto, ON, and occasionally travel between offices within Canada (Toronto and Vancouver)

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingualism in French and English is highly preferred given the Montreal base.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot office network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, and VPNs) to ensure stable connectivity.
  • Manage basic server environments and administer office collaboration platforms (e.g., Office 365, Google Workspace, Azure AD).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for IT issues, providing direct on-site support for Montreal staff and comprehensive remote support for the Toronto team.
  • Resolve hardware, software, and system access issues in a timely manner.
  • Manage IT onboarding and offboarding processes, including workstation provisioning (PC/Mac), software deployment, and account creation/revocation.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all office IT assets, licenses, and peripherals.
  • Coordinate with local Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and external hardware/software vendors for troubleshooting, warranty repairs, and equipment procurement.
  • Monitor daily data backup tasks and ensure effective disaster recovery procedures for local systems.
  • Enforce basic IT security policies, including endpoint protection, antivirus updates, and operating system patch management.
