About The Position

We are currently seeking an experienced Associate to join our Power and Utilities investment banking practice in New York. The Associate - Power and Utilities, Investment Banking is responsible for providing structure, marketing and execution activities supporting senior members of the team. This role involves working within a deal team under the overall direction of a senior officer, researching and analyzing clients' financial situations, industry and market data, and mergers and acquisition opportunities. The Associate will also value private and public companies, perform complex financial and M&A modeling, and prepare external client proposals and internal underwriting memos. Additionally, the role requires preparing client presentations, assisting with client negotiations and documentation, and providing structure, transactional and marketing support at a professional and subject matter expert level. The Associate will recommend and implement solutions, provide advanced analysis or specialized work requiring specialized/advanced knowledge, and develop and maintain contacts with market participants. They will also provide updates regarding institutional/retail demand and remaining TD liability for equity deals, work closely with/oversee junior colleagues to ensure accuracy, and establish an environment that promotes respect for the individual employee and adheres to the policies and guidelines of the Bank. Maintaining confidentiality of client information, staying informed on market data, economic information and key industry developments, and regulatory standards are crucial. The role also includes directing, training, and developing staff to enable them to meet challenges, department objectives, and achieve full potential. The Associate is required to demonstrate governance, control, and risk management behaviors in alignment with TD policies and practices.

Requirements

  • Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, performs effectively under pressure and tight timelines
  • Possesses strong financial modeling skills, solid analytical and quantitative abilities
  • Collaborative team player, excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Mathematics/Economics
  • Prior investment banking experience required
  • Series 7, 79 and 63
  • 3+ Years of related experience
