About The Position

We provide our corporate, institutional and government clients with capital markets and financial advisory services and integrated solutions. We're on the lookout for talented individuals to join our Canadian team as Investment Banking Associates. We're looking to build teams across Canada with opportunities in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary. You will work on various integrated teams comprised of capital markets, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions professionals that will provide you with the necessary skills to succeed in Investment Banking. As an Associate in Investment Banking: You'll work under the direction of a senior officer and with other experienced professionals, helping to generate ideas, advise clients and execute transactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Current or prior experience in Investment Banking (1-3 years) and/or Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Have a combination of strong financial/analytical skills, excellent communication abilities and be adept at financial modeling and valuation
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Willingness to complete licensing requirements (FINRA SIE, Series 79)

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze clients' financial situations, industry and market data, identify, research and analyze mergers and acquisition opportunities
  • Develop valuation models of individual private and public companies, as well as merged entities
  • Assist with client negotiations and documentation
  • Prepare external client proposals and internal underwriting memos
  • Prepare and contribute to the delivery of client presentations
  • Aid senior team members with idea generation
  • Manage and review the work of analysts
  • Develop internal relationships in order to leverage products and services provided by TDBG
