The Capital Markets arm of CIBC provides corporate, government and institutional clients with innovative solutions to help them raise capital and grow and invest actively throughout North America and key financial centres around the world. Requirements

Relevant education.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Proficient in Excel and financial-statement-literate.
Excellent knowledge of PC applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
Programming, automation, and AI skills are sought.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with internal and external clients.
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
Ability to complete and explain detailed financial and statistical analysis.
Strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
Ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment.
Demonstrated interest in the capital markets industry through school courses, clubs and/or related work experience.

Legally eligible to work at the specified location(s) and, where applicable, must have a valid work or study permit.

Nice To Haves

Accounting designation CA or CPA.
Mining engineering designation combined with a CFA or MBA.
Previous Capital markets experience.

Responsibilities

Work closely with Research Analysts covering the Metals & Mining sector.
Develop a depth of knowledge in financial analysis, covered industries and the capital markets.
Gather information, research companies and industries leveraging primary, secondary and alternative sources, and recognize and analyze industry trends.
Write reports, develop and maintain financial models and databases.
Assist in writing thematic reports.
Participate in regular calls with public companies to get direct data from senior management teams, as well as ad hoc calls, meetings and industry events.
Liaise with Sales, Trading, Investment Banking colleagues and clients as required.
