About The Position

The Associate Information Systems Specialist 3 will install, maintain and support information systems hardware and/or software; write computer programs; and assist user areas as needed. Assist users in determining how or when to make changes to existing software and/or hardware for improved functionality or better utilization, develop/maintain operating instructions. Provide technical guidance and assistance concerning software and/or hardware applications and operations. Maintain MLGW computer software and/or hardware products/ programs; maintain appropriate documentation. Place orders for new software, hardware, and/or services as required; assess new technology and integrate into MLGW's operation. Serve as a consultant with vendor representatives on software and hardware problems. Stay abreast of changes within the computer software and/or hardware fields. Operate Division vehicle and computer equipment. Perform other duties as directed.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license from state of residence
  • Associate's degree in Information Systems, Electronic Engineering Technology, Computer Science or related field
  • 4 years of demonstrated knowledge and application of programming, operating systems, database and/or computer hardware/networking experience
  • Programming skill proficiencies in COBOL II, ADS/O, Delphi, Visual Basic or other related languages
  • Operating systems proficiencies in Windows, WS, MVS communication systems such as VTAM, MVS utility programs such as TSO/E, TLMS, top Secret Security, CA7 and CA11
  • Database skill proficiencies in IDMSP or Oracle
  • Computer hardware/networking proficiencies and/or certifications such as CNE, CNA, MCSE, MCP, A-Plus, etc.
  • Programming skills and operating systems proficiencies with security systems or equivalent experience with similar systems; Casi Rusco Picture Perfect Access Control System, Westinghouse Access Control System, ABM Phoenix Alarm Monitoring System, DataCard Quick Works Identifications Card System, and Local and Remote CCTV Monitoring Systems

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree with at least 12 hours of college accredited computer-related courses plus 4 years demonstrated knowledge and application of programming, operating systems, database and/or computer hardware/networking experience depending on expertise required (6 years’ experience for external candidates)
